Prayagraj: A ‘UP Digital Labour Chowk’ mobile app has been developed by the UP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board to connect construction workers with employment opportunities and provide them with easy, transparent access to government welfare schemes.The app will serve as a digital platform linking construction workers with employers. Through it, workers will be able to access job opportunities as well as information about various welfare schemes run by the labour department and avail themselves of benefits for which they are eligible.Employers, builders, contractors, construction agencies and other establishments engaged in construction work can register on the app and directly connect with workers. Likewise, registered construction workers can interact with employers and secure employment through the platform. The app is designed to make it easier for workers to find jobs while enabling employers to recruit skilled labour according to their requirements.In addition, construction workers who are not fully aware of the welfare schemes offered by the UP Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board can obtain detailed information through the app and apply for benefits based on their eligibility.Sumit Kumar, Deputy Labour Commissioner (Prayagraj region), appealed to construction workers and employers to download the ‘UP Digital Labour Chowk’ mobile app from the Google Play Store on their Android phones and make full use of its services. He also urged them to spread awareness about the app among other workers and employers so that the maximum number of eligible beneficiaries can take advantage of this digital initiative.
