Kolkata: “Didi, you have not lost,” said Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav to Trinamool chief Mamata Banerjee while visiting her Kalighat residence on Thursday and accused BJP and the Election Commission of orchestrating a “multi-layered mafia-style” electoral manipulation in Bengal, alleging that the “Uttar Pradesh model” of rigging had been replicated in the state assembly polls.Akhilesh extended support to Trinamool in what he described as a fight to “save democracy and the Constitution”.“We remember when fair elections were held here, Didi became the chief minister. This time the elections were conducted with multilayered mafia-style manipulation. What BJP did in Uttar Pradesh was just a trial. Learning from that, they looted the entire election,” Akhilesh alleged.“BJP, the Election Commission and underground operatives together conducted this election. Officials were lured with promises of higher posts. Voting happened under the pressure of 3,00,000 central force personnel,” he said.Akhilesh also expressed concern over the security of Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool national general secretary Abhishek Banerjee.Referring to the killing of Suvendu Adhikari’s aide Chandranath Rath, Akhilesh said Union home minister Amit Shah was responsible for the incident.
