Dibrugarh: The Dibrugarh Municipal Corporation has ordered cattle owners to remove their animals from markets and public roads immediately.The notice, issued on Friday by executive magistrate and DMC executive officer Navas Das, said cattle, particularly cows, were frequently found roaming in markets. Scattered cow dung was inconveniencing the public and affecting sanitation.Owners have been directed to keep their cattle under control, remove them from public areas and maintain cleanliness.Warning of strict action, the notice said, “Failing which, DMC shall be at liberty to seize and remove such stray cattle and shift them to a designated Gaushala at the risk and cost of the concerned owner, without any further notice.”Owners will have to bear the cost of seizing, transporting and sheltering impounded cattle.DMC urged residents and traders to cooperate “in the interest of public health, cleanliness, sanitation and smooth movement of the general public.”
