Lucknow: A diamond ring worth Rs 75,000 was stolen from a scooter’s boot in Manaknagar. The incident, which occurred on July 16, was captured in CCTV cameras, in which a man and woman are seen purportedly trailing the victims from a jewellery store before making off with the ring within minutes.According to the FIR filed at the local police station, Shanu, a resident of LDA Colony, Kanpur Road, went to a jewellery store with his wife Meenu Phool. The couple bought a ring worth Rs 75,000 and kept it in the boot of their scooter.The couple stopped at a departmental store to buy grocery items. When they returned after a few minutes, they found the ring missing.ACP Raj Kumar Singh said that a case had been registered and police were scanning CCTV footage from the jewellery store and nearby areas to identify and track the suspects. “We are working on technical surveillance and suspect profiling to nab the culprits,” a police officer said.
