‘Dhurandhar The Revenge’ has become a major talking point across the country since its release. The film starring Ranveer Singh opened with a strong response in Hindi on March 19 after paid previews on March 18. Fans in South India, though, were left disappointed. The Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada dubbed versions have not been released as expected. This unexpected postponement of the dubbed versions caused confusion for both the audiences and the theater owners.
Dubbing completion caused a delay
As per India Today, the main reason for the delay was incomplete dubbing work. While the Hindi version was finished and delivered on time, the makers were unable to complete the regional language versions before the premiere. Due to this, the prints were not ready for release. As a result, shows in Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam were cancelled at the last minute. However, the premature issue delayed the movie’s release in other territories.
CBFC certification delay and print issues impact the dubbed release schedule
In addition, the certification process was started somewhat late, which also contributed to the delay. Today, March 19, the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions have been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification. For this reason, the screening of the prints at the theatres could not happen in time. The Kannada version is still awaiting clearance. Theatre owners earlier said that the prints would arrive soon, leading to a revised release plan for the dubbed versions.
‘Dhurandhar The Revenge’ new release date update
Now, the latest update is that the Tamil, Telugu, and Malayalam versions are expected to be released on March 21, with some theatres planning night shows from March 20. Advance bookings have already begun, which will boost collections further. Directed by Aditya Dhar and starring Ranveer Singh, this film crossed the 100 crore mark on day one. Since the dubbed versions were delayed, the movie’s release will now cater to more people, boosting collections.
