Dhanbad: The divisional railway manager (DRM) of Dhanbad division, Akhilesh Mishra, on Thursday assessed the facilities available at the Dhanbad junction and directed the officials concerned to better the amenities for passengers. The initiative aims to strengthen passenger-oriented services by understanding the difficulties faced by travellers and obtaining direct feedback on their journey experiences, sources said.Mishra interacted with passengers aboard the Dhanbad–Alappuzha Express under the ‘Rail Samvad’ programme, listened to their grievances and sought suggestions to improve railway services. “Passengers appeared satisfied with the facilities available to them. However, some travelling on long-distance trains raised concerns over the shortage of water. We will undertake efforts to address the issue at the earliest,” he said. The ‘Rail Samvad’ programme provided an opportunity for railway officials to understand passengers’ concerns first-hand rather than relying solely on routine feedback mechanisms.
