Dhanbad: District election officer and deputy commissioner Aditya Ranjan conducted a surprise inspection of polling stations at two places on Sunday afternoon to review the progress of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.During the inspection, he assessed the ongoing distribution, collection and digitisation of enumeration forms. Ranjan directed booth level officers (BLOs) and other election officials to complete the digitisation of enumeration forms within the stipulated timeline while ensuring accuracy, quality and proper verification.He instructed officials to reach every eligible voter and ensure that no citizen is left out of the roll update process. He also interacted with voters present at the polling stations to understand their awareness of the process and reviewed the basic facilities available at the booths.Emphasising the importance of the exercise, he said that a clean, updated and inclusive electoral roll is the foundation of a strong democracy. He added that active participation of every eligible citizen is essential to ensure free, fair and transparent elections.

The DC appealed to voters of the Dhanbad and Jharia Assembly constituencies to visit their respective polling stations on July 20, where special voter camps will continue to be organised. He urged citizens to collect the enumeration forms, fill them in correctly, submit them on time and actively participate in the drive.Subdivisional magistrate Lokesh Barange, deputy development commissioner Deepak Kumar Dubey and other officials accompanied Ranjan during the inspection. They assured that digitisation, verification and related work under SIR would be completed within the scheduled time frame.
