SRINAGAR: Director General of Police (DGP) Nalin Prabhat on Thursday visited the Nunwan Frisking Point in Pahalgam to review the security and facilitation arrangements for the ongoing Amarnath Yatra.
During the visit, the DGP inspected the frisking point and assessed the security measures, access control systems, deployment of personnel and arrangements made for the safety and convenience of pilgrims.
He interacted with police officers and security personnel deployed at the site and directed them to maintain a high level of vigilance while ensuring that security checks remain thorough but pilgrim-friendly to facilitate smooth movement of yatris.
Prabhat stressed the need for close coordination among security agencies and the civil administration to ensure the pilgrimage remains safe, peaceful and hassle-free.
The DGP also appreciated the efforts of police personnel and other security forces deployed for Yatra duty and urged them to remain alert, responsive and courteous while performing their responsibilities, ensuring that pilgrims receive timely assistance throughout the pilgrimage.
