Kanpur: Uttar Pradesh has achieved unprecedented development under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief minister Yogi Adityanath, said MSME minister Rakesh Sachan on Wednesday. “A clear difference between Uttar Pradesh before 2017 and the present day is reflected in the infrastructure, law and order and effective implementation of public welfare schemes in the state,” he added.The minister inaugurated a grand exhibition to mark the completion of nine years of UP govt, held on the theme ‘9 years of construction”.Speaking on the occasion, the minister stated that the construction of expressways, highways and rural roads have significantly improved connectivity and with Jewar Airport set to open soon air connectivity will also enhance. Several flights are now being operated from Kanpur. The Dedicated Freight Corridor and the industrial hub developed in Bhimsen were providing new impetus to industrial development, he said.Highlighting the achievements of Kanpur district, he said that development has gained new momentum since 2017. So far, 252 projects were completed and made useful for the public at a cost of Rs1,503.89 crore.Energy projects like the Ghatampur Thermal Project and the Panki Extension were creating a new identity, while the Kidwai Nagar-Govind Nagar 220 kV substation was complete. The Kanpur Metro, operating from IIT-K to Kanpur Central, has become the district’s new identity, he said adding that the remaining work was also progressing rapidly. Among other achievements, he highlighted the work of Defence Corridor, the Sports Hub and the new Green Park gallery. Modern Parag Dairy Plant in Govind Nagar would also begin processing 400,000 liters of milk per day in April, he aded. On the state’s power supply, he said that uninterrupted power supply for 18- 24 hours was being ensured and the state’s budget was increased from Rs 3.9 lakh crore in 2016 to more than Rs 9.1 lakh crore boosting development work. Beneficiaries of various schemes were honoured during the programme.The Information and Public Relations department’s exhibition specifically highlighted the state’s transformation and development journey.
