Chennai: At least five unidentified men assaulted a 24-year-old online delivery worker and threatened him at gunpoint near Porur on Sunday night. The victim sustained head injuries and was admitted to a private hospital.The victim, Priyadharshan (24), a resident of Valasaravakkam, was riding his motorcycle through Karambakkam at 9.30 pm when five men intercepted him. They picked a quarrel with him and threatened him by pointing a firearm at his forehead. They assaulted him and sped away.Priyadharshan sustained head injuries in the attack and was treated at a private hospital. Based on the victim’s complaint, Valasaravakkam police registered a case. Preliminary investigation revealed that the assault was due to an earlier dispute involving delivery workers.Police teams are analysing the CCTV footage to identify the suspects and trace the motorcycle used in the attack.
