Bengaluru: A food delivery executive was allegedly robbed and forced to reveal his UPI PIN by a gang of four unidentified men in Kaggadasapura in the early hours of Thursday.According to a complaint filed by Jiban Miah, 29, a Murugeshpalya resident, he was returning home on his two-wheeler after completing a delivery in Kaggadasapura from JB Nagar around 2am. As he reached I Cross, Kaggadasapura, four miscreants intercepted him. One stopped his vehicle while the others restrained him and threatened him into handing over his cash, mobile phone, and other valuables.Fearing for his safety, Miah handed over the Rs 400 he was carrying. The gang then demanded another Rs 2,000. When he said he had no more money, they snatched his mobile phone, opened a digital payment application and forced him to reveal his UPI PIN. Finding no money in his account, one of the accused ordered him to call friends and arrange cash immediately.Miah contacted friends Rashid and Aftab, who rushed to the spot and alerted police by dialing 112. Before a Hoysala patrol reached the spot, the miscreants returned his mobile phone and fled with Rs 400 in cash.Miah told police the accused were aged between 20 and 25 and were dressed in shirts and trousers. Byappanahalli police have registered a case under Section 308 (extortion) of BNS.
