Anil’s colleagues have demanded compensation from the e-commerce platform he worked for

Gurgaon: A 23-year-old delivery executive was killed after a dumper hit his motorcycle from behind near Kherki Daula toll plaza at 7am on Thursday, leading to protests by fellow delivery partners, triggering traffic congestion on the Delhi-Jaipur highway for an hour.Delivery partners who gathered at the spot demanded compensation from the e-commerce platform he worked for. However, police said it will be investigated whether he was on duty at the time of the accident.The deceased, Anil Yadav, a native of Ayodhya, UP, lived in Jharsa and was working in the city for the past three years.Akash, a colleague of the deceased, accused the police and ambulance of arriving late. “A delivery partner saw the accident and called the police immediately. Yet they didn’t reach until 7.30 am, and the ambulance came even later, at 8.30 am. We’ve been pleading with our company seniors to come, but none have. Anil was on his way to collect an order when the accident happened,” he said.Police, however, denied any delay and said a team reached the spot soon after. They said Anil left home at 4am to deliver orders. Around 7am, a speeding dumper hit his motorcycle. The bike skidded and slid under the truck’s wheels. His body got entangled and was also crushed beneath the heavy vehicle. The driver fled immediately.A relative, Pankaj Yadav, said he received information about the incident around 7.15 am. “We rushed to the spot and saw that his colleagues had gathered there.”A case was registered under sections 281 (rash driving) and 106 (death by negligence) of the BNS at Kherki Daula police station. Further investigation is underway to nab the accused, cops said.In another accident, a 21-year-old bike taxi rider was killed near Elan Mall in Sector 80 in the early hours of Monday after an unidentified vehicle allegedly rammed his motorcycle and fled the spot.The deceased, Sahil, a native of Khatkad village in Jind district, lived in Sector 1, Manesar.According to the complaint lodged by his father, Ramesh, Sahil was returning to his house from Rampura Chowk on the night of July 13-14 when an unidentified vehicle collided with his motorcycle in a head-on collision.Police found Sahil’s damaged Hero Splendor motorcycle parked by the roadside, while the offending vehicle had fled.An officer said, “We are scanning CCTV footage from the area and trying to identify the vehicle involved in the hit-and-run. No arrest has been made so far.”In another accident, a 43-year-old tea vendor was killed after a truck allegedly hit his bicycle near the Rampura flyover on Sunday evening.The deceased, Dharmendra, from Firozabad in Uttar Pradesh, lived in Rampura village with his family. He ran a tea cart near Rampura Chowk.Police said he closed his tea stall around 6.30 pm and was cycling towards Rampura Chowk on Naurangpur Road to buy vegetables. As he reached Rampura flyover, a truck allegedly hit him. The driver abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. A case has been registered at Kherki Daula police station.
