NEW DELHI: Delhi is likely to witness moderate rainfall on Tuesday, with the weather office issuing a ‘yellow alert’ amid a forecast of generally cloudy skies. The minimum temperature in the city settled at 26 degrees Celsius, while the maximum is expected to hover around 33 degrees Celsius.At Safdarjung, the city’s base weather station, the minimum temperature was recorded at 26 degrees Celsius, one notch below normal.Palam recorded a minimum of 24.6 degrees Celsius, which was 2.1 notches below normal. Lodi Road registered 26 degrees Celsius, normal for this time of the year. The Ridge recorded a minimum of 23.3 degrees Celsius, 2.6 notches below normal, while Ayanagar recorded 26.7 degrees Celsius, 0.6 notch above normal.The city received 4 mm of rainfall in the 24-hour period ending at 8.30 am on Tuesday. Lodi Road recorded 4.8 mm of rain, while the Ridge received 6.9 mm. Palam recorded trace rainfall, whereas Ayanagar reported no rainfall during the period.The weather office has forecast generally cloudy skies with moderate rain during the day, with the maximum temperature expected to settle at around 33 degrees Celsius.Meanwhile, Delhi’s Air Quality Index (AQI) at 9 am stood at 75, placing it in the “satisfactory” category, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).The CPCB classifies an AQI of 0-50 as “good”, 51-100 as “satisfactory”, 101-200 as “moderate”, 201-300 as “poor”, 301-400 as “very poor” and 401-500 as “severe”.
