Delhi University has released its first seat allocation list for undergraduate admissions for the 2025-26 academic session, allocating 93,166 seats against the 71,624 available. Within two hours, over 27,000 candidates accepted their seats.

NEW DELHI: Delhi University on Saturday released the first seat allocation list for undergraduate admissions for the 2025-26 academic session, kicking off the final phase of the Common Seat Allocation System for UG (CSAS-UG). The list, released at 5 pm on July 19, shows a total of 93,166 seat allocations against 71,624 UG seats offered across 79 programmes in 69 colleges. The excess allocation, a DU official said, was based on previous trends where students often shuffle seats between colleges. The allocations span multiple categories, including Unreserved (UR), OBC, EWS, SC, ST, Sikh minorities, Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), Kashmiri Migrants, single girl child and orphan (male and female) categories.SEE FULL LIST HERE This year, DU is offering 71,624 seats in programmes ranging from honours to multidisciplinary courses across humanities, sciences, commerce and performing arts. So far, the university has allotted 1,325 seats under the single girl child category and 259 for orphans—127 girls and 132 boys. Within just two hours of going live, 27,533 candidates had already accepted their seats, reflecting a prompt and enthusiastic response. Candidates must accept their allotted seats by 4:59 pm on July 21. Colleges will verify and approve applications by July 22, and the deadline for fee payment is July 23. Allocations for certain performance-based programmes—including BA (Hons) Hindustani Music, BA (Hons) Karnataka Music, BA (Hons) Percussion Music, B.Sc in Physical Education, Health Education and Sports, and Bachelor of Fine Art—will be done in the third round. Applicants for these courses have been advised to check trial schedules on college or department websites. DU has also made minimum allocation scores and ranks available on candidate dashboards and will publish them on its admission website. The second allocation list will be released at 5 pm on July 28, and the new academic session will begin on August 1.
