Ranchi: An Air India flight scheduled to depart from Ranchi’s Birsa Munda International airport to New Delhi was cancelled on Sunday due to technical issues. Ranchi airport director R R Mourya, in an official statement, said, “The Air India Express 1200 from Ranchi to Delhi has been cancelled due to technical reasons. Few passengers have been adjusted in other flights, while others got their tickets cancelled, and a few were rescheduled for tomorrow.” Rajya Sabha MP from Jharkhand, Aditya Sahu, who was stranded at the airport, said, “During boarding, we were informed about the cancellation.” Meanwhile, due to continuous heavy rain over the past month, approx 30-metre section of the boundary wall on southern side of the airport collapsed earlier on Sunday and immediate steps taken to ensure safety.
