New Delhi: Delhi Police busted a spurious antacid and coffee manufacturing racket, seizing over one lakh antacid sachets and 50,000 coffee sachets that were ready for sale, along with other goods worth around Rs 20 lakh.Acting on a tip-off, police raided two rented 2BHK flats in east Delhi‘s Madhu Vihar, where illegal manufacturing units were found operating. The production and packaging were carried out under the supervision of Uttam Das, 23, assisted by labourer Papnai Das Baragya, 19.During the raids, police seized three single-track filling machines with compressors, around one lakh antacid sachets, 50,000 coffee sachets, raw materials including 500 kg of coffee powder and two drums of acid, along with hot guns, other tools and packaging material.The accused told police they were operating under the directions of Nitin Bharadwaj, 38, who was later arrested in Dehradun. Based on his disclosure, his associate, Sanjay Bansal, 50, was apprehended from Kashmere Gate while attempting to leave the city.A case was registered.
