New Delhi: Two days after a 69-year-old woman was murdered by a robber inside her residence in southeast Delhi’s Jangpura Extension, two men have been arrested for allegedly receiving the stolen valuables. The main accused, who carried out the robbery and murder, remains absconding and is suspected to have fled Delhi.The accused bought the stolen jewellery and the victim’s mobile phone from the main suspect. Police have recovered it from them. The two were arrested after police traced the stolen articles and established their links with the suspected killer. They are being questioned.Kumar was found dead at her home around 8am Friday by her elder daughter Vijaita, who had stopped by before picking up her daughter from school. Her hands were tied behind her back with a bedsheet, and blood was found around her mouth. A pillow was found near the bed, leading the family to suspect that she had been smothered.Police said CCTV footage showed the main suspect entering the lane around 3.15am. He allegedly scaled a small grill, latched the front doors of three neighbouring houses from outside and then entered her house.Investigators suspect the accused may have watched Kumar’s daily routine before targeting her. Relatives said Kumar would wake up around 3am and step outside her house as part of her daily prayer routine. Police suspect the accused may have noticed that her door was opened around the same time every day and used the routine to gain entry to the house.CCTV footage shows him leaving the lane around 4am with a bag before scaling the boundary wall of a nearby park and fleeing.
