A New York family is grieving the loss of a mom of four who died after crashing her car into her family’s swimming pool, as per People. According to police in Nassau County, Long Island, 40-year-old Allison Rahmani died on Friday, August 21, after losing control of her SUV outside a Hewlett home, according to the report.
Police told People in a statement that Rahmani was in her GMC in the driveway of a residence on Elinor Road when she lost control of her car, “striking a tree, a parked and unoccupied 2006 Honda and subsequently becoming immersed in an inground pool.”
Rahmani was removed from the car before police arrived at the scene, and officers performed first aid. She was then taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Did she suffer a medical emergency?
The teacher and mom of four appears to have suffered a medical episode before the fatal crash, sources close to the investigation told the New York Post on Sunday. Sources said police believe she suffered some kind of medical emergency that led to the accident and do not suspect foul play, although the probe is ongoing.
Rahmani was able to call 911 from the vehicle but could not be saved and died on the way to the hospital, police said, as per the New York Post.
Her cause of death has not been made public. The crash is still under investigation.

Allison, who recently celebrated her 40th birthday, was math coordinator at the Hebrew Academy of the Five Towns and Rockaway. Her husband, Matthew Rahmani, is president of Irving Place Minyan Orthodox Synagogue in Woodmere, as per New York Post
The crash happened on the same day she was scheduled to leave for a romantic Paris getaway with her husband, as per the reports.
Husband pays emotional tribute
Rahmani was remembered Sunday at a funeral service at Boulevard-Riverside Chapels in Hewlett. During the service, her husband Matthew paid tribute to her by reciting the “Eshet Chayil,” or “Woman of Valor,” a wedding prayer grooms traditionally recite to their brides at Jewish weddings.
“I’m sorry I didn’t say that at her wedding. I can’t imagine more fitting words for the woman you were,” Matthew said, according to the New York Post.
He remembered his wife as a loving mom who “nurtured” their children “like delicate plants,” and said he would “pick up where you left off” as a parent, as per the outlet. He recounted how they had “lived paycheck to paycheck” in their first apartment together, and said she supported him through everything.
“Every major decision point in our lives, you took me by the hand, you pulled me, you said it would be OK, that you believed in me, in us,” he said.
