Delhi commuters faced major travel disruptions on October 12 as entry and exit gates at six metro stations were closed amid heightened security for planned opposition protests. The affected stations included Rajiv Chowk, Central Secretariat, Patel Chowk, Janpath, Mandi House and Barakhamba Road. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation said interchange facilities remained available at the affected stations, while Delhi Traffic Police issued an advisory warning of possible congestion and diversions. Heavy overnight rain and waterlogging added to the challenges for commuters travelling through the capital. The restrictions were scheduled to remain in place until 4 PM, subject to review by security agencies.
