New Delhi: Delhi govt has directed all departments to accord priority to meetings called by the chief minister and ensure the attendance of officials required there after some senior officials skipped such meetings and failed to communicate to the CMO the decisions taken in meetings called by the Centre or lieutenant governor.“This has been viewed seriously by the chief minister,” an official said.Officials have been asked to avoid scheduling conflicts for meetings and inform the CMO in advance if they cannot be present. Separately, Delhi govt has directed all departments to expedite the disposal of public grievances. All additional chief secretaries/principal secretaries and heads of all departments, and heads of all bodies of govt have been sent a communication to keep these matters in mind.“Meetings convened in the chief minister’s office under the chairpersonship of the CM shall be accorded due priority and the officers concerned shall ensure their attendance. In case of a clash with a later scheduled meeting, the organisers shall be requested to reschedule it, with an intimation to the CMO. Where a clash with a scheduled meeting cannot be resolved, the matter shall be brought to the notice of the CMO for appropriate directions,” a circular issued by the general administration department said.Meanwhile, govt has warned that HoDs will be held accountable for overdue grievance resolution and necessary action would be taken against those responsible.A circular has been issued directing officials to prioritise pending complaints, regularly monitor grievance redressal portals and ensure that cases are resolved within prescribed timelines. The circular covers complaints received through the Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System, LG Listing Post, Public Grievance Monitoring System and other platforms.“Officials have been instructed not to dispose of complaints merely by submitting replies. Each grievance must be examined on its merit and addressed through a clear, specific and reasoned response, supported by details of the action taken,” an official said.Weekly reviews will be done every Friday to assess pendency, overdue cases and the quality of disposal. The circular warned that avoidable delays, repeated instances of overdue grievances and inadequate responses will be viewed seriously and necessary action will be taken.
