NEW DELHI: Delhi government carried out a demolition drive against an allegedly illegal mazar built on government land in the Pitampura–Shalimar Bagh area as part of its road-widening project. The action was taken under the government’s zero-tolerance policy against illegal encroachments, with officials saying the structure stood on government land in the middle of the road and was removed to facilitate the widening project. According to the government, the demolition is aimed at improving traffic movement along the Pitampura–Shalimar Bagh stretch as part of its infrastructure development efforts.
