NEW DELHI: One person died and four others were injured after an oxygen cylinder exploded at a godown in Okhla Phase-I on Wednesday morning, police said.A PCR call was received at Okhla Industrial Area police station around 10.43am regarding the blast at D-23, Okhla Phase-I.Police teams reached the spot and found a Tata 407 loaded with commercial oxygen cylinders.Preliminary inquiry revealed that one of the cylinders exploded while the vehicle was at the premises, police said.The premises was identified as a godown where commercial oxygen cylinders were being stored. The godown owner has been identified as Shyam Mohan.The exact circumstances and cause of the blast are yet to be ascertained. Police have secured the spot and are investigating.Further investigation about the deceased and injured, the ownership and agency of the cylinders, and the extent of damage is underway.
