Arun Matheswaran’s ‘DC’ continued its theatrical run with an impressive jump in collections on Sunday. The Tamil film, featuring Lokesh Kanagaraj and Wamiqa Gabbi, recorded a 36.4% rise in its India net collection compared with Day 2.According to Sacnilk, ‘DC’ earned Rs 9.55 Cr net in India on its third day. The film had collected Rs 7.00 Cr on Saturday. Its Day 3 performance came from 4,639 shows across the country. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 40.1%.
India collection reaches Rs 20.95 Cr
With the Sunday figures added, ‘DC’ has collected Rs 20.95 Cr net in India so far. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 24.11 Cr.The film opened with Rs 4.40 Cr on Friday. It then saw a good increase on Saturday, when its collection rose to Rs 7.00 Cr. Sunday brought another substantial jump, taking the three-day India net total to Rs 20.95 Cr.The film’s three-day occupancy also improved steadily. It stood at 24.8% on Friday and increased to 35.7% on Saturday. On Sunday, it reached 40.1%.The Tamil version collected Rs 6.60 Cr at an overall occupancy of 58%. The Tamil version had 2,101 shows.The Telugu version recorded Rs 2.30 Cr at 39% occupancy across 1,207 shows. The Hindi version added Rs 65 lakhs from 1,331 shows, with an overall occupancy of 13%.The Tamil version recorded its highest occupancy during afternoon shows. It registered 80.38% during that period. Morning shows recorded 50.54%, while evening and night shows registered 65.92% and 68.54%, respectively.The Telugu version had an overall occupancy of 44.50%. Its morning shows recorded 28.60% occupancy. Afternoon shows stood at 42.80%, while both evening and night shows registered 49.90%.‘DC’ recorded a Day 3 state-wise gross collection of Rs 11.00 Cr. Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 3.30 Cr, while Kerala added Rs 2.50 Cr.Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together contributed Rs 2.75 Cr. Karnataka added Rs 1.60 Cr, while the rest of India contributed Rs 85 lakhs.The film has also recorded Rs 2.25 Cr from overseas markets on Day 3. Its cumulative overseas gross collection has now reached Rs 7.75 Cr. Combining its India and overseas earnings, ‘DC’ has reached a worldwide gross of Rs 31.86 Cr.
