Mysuru: The floral replica of Vidhana Soudha, showcasing the theme ‘Festival of Democracy’, will be the main attraction of this year’s Dasara flower show at Kuppanna Park.Organised by the horticulture department from Oct 11 to 20, the flower show will feature a 25-foot-high replica of Vidhana Soudha made entirely with natural flowers. The structure will be around 40ft wide and 19ft long, with roses accounting for nearly 70% of the flowers used.The department has allocated around Rs 48 lakh for the floral display. Officials said artificial flowers will not be used, and the flowers will be replaced after five days to maintain the freshness of the display.The flower show at Kuppanna Park is one of the major attractions during Dasara and is expected to draw visitors throughout the 10-day festival. Officials said a separate flower show will also be organised at Lingambudhi lake for 11 days as part of the Dasara celebrations.Meanwhile, Dasara ticket booking started on the Dasara website. Prices for the gold card (Rs 6,500), procession (Rs 3,500), torchlight parade (Rs 1,500) and drone show (Rs 1,000) have been fixed. This year, the drone show will be held for two days.Meanwhile, the online registration for the Dasara kambala buffalo pairs started on the official website. According to sources, a clear picture of the number of participants is expected only after a week. According to the guidelines issued for the buffalo owners, they must submit an animal welfare and legal declaration, including a health and fitness certificate from local veterinarians. Single-use plastic is banned for the decoration of the buffaloes.
