Bengaluru: Two accused in the Renukaswamy murder case, Jagadeesh and Anukumar, will continue to remain at Central Prison, Parappana Agrahara, after prison authorities opposed their transfer to Chitradurga District Jail on security grounds. In an email to the court, Director-General of Prisons and Correctional Services Alok Kumar said shifting the duo could pose security challenges as the case is under trial and there are apprehensions of threats. The two are under heightened surveillance at Parappana Agrahara. The development came after their counsel sought an update on their pending transfer application. The court had directed the DGPCS to consider the request and submit details before the next hearing on Sept 8.Responding to the direction, Alok Kumar informed the court that the accused could not be shifted to Chitradurga in view of security concerns. They will, therefore, remain at Parappana Agrahara for now.
