Vadodara: A day after two minor boys were found dead at their home in Dahod, investigations have pointed to the mother’s depression—linked to her elder son’s learning disability—as a possible trigger behind the killings. The incident came to light on Thursday morning at the family’s residence on Chakaliya Road, where the 32-year-old woman, married to a policeman, was alone with her 12-year-old and two-year-old sons. Neighbours alerted authorities after discovering the deaths. The woman had allegedly consumed poison and was rushed to hospital.Police said preliminary findings indicate that both children were strangled and may also have been poisoned, though the exact cause of death will be confirmed after postmortem reports.A senior police official said the elder child had a learning disability since birth and required constant care. He had been undergoing treatment for a long time. The mother, officials said, had been suffering from depression and was also under treatment. She survived the suicide attempt and is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dahod.
