Vadodara: A complaint of cheating worth Rs 1.51 crore has been registered against a cyberfraud gang at the Cyber Crime police station in the city. The complainant told the police that the gang had sent WhatsApp messages with screenshots of investment options.The fraudsters added the complainant in a WhatsApp group by promising lucrative returns on investment. They also posed as senior police officials to gain the trust of the complainant and then took money under the pretext of investing in stock market. The complainant realised it was a cyberfraud gang when the invested amount wasn’t returned for several months.
