Patna: A customer service point (CSP) operator was shot at and robbed of Rs 5 lakh near Babhnauli village under Mahadeva police station in Siwan on Friday. The victim, Ashok Patel (45), runs a CSP at the village market. He was returning from Siwan town after withdrawing Rs 5 lakh from Axis Bank when three armed men on a motorcycle intercepted him. He was shot and injured when he resisted the robbery. Patel is a resident of Kalyanpur under Sarai police station.Patel said, “I run a CSP of Gramin Bank in the village market. During noon hours, I was returning to the village after withdrawing Rs 5 lakh from Axis Bank located in the town. Meanwhile, near Babhnauli village, three criminals on a bike approached me from behind and started indiscriminate firing without any warning. As soon as the bullets hit me, I fell on the road, after which the criminals fled with the money kept in a bag.”Following the incident, locals rushed the injured to Sadar Hospital and informed the police. Patel sustained three bullet injuries — one in the waist, one in the leg and one in the back. Due to his critical condition, he was referred to another hospital for better treatment after primary medical care.Sadar SDPO Ajay Kumar Singh reached the hospital and recorded the statement of the injured. He said, “The investigation into the case has been initiated and raids are being conducted for the arrest of the criminals.”
