Kanpur: Host CSJM University emerged as champion in All India Inter-University Men Kho Kho championship defeating Lovely Professional University Punjab in the final by 36-26 held at the university campus on Wednesday.Earlier in the morning, CSJM had defeated SRTMUN University Nanded by 30-22 and Lovely Professional University Phagwara Punjab by 28-18 in semi finals. Swami Ramanand Teerth Marathwada (SRTMU) Nanded and Dr Baba Saheb Ambedkar University Sambhaji Nagar were declared as third place joint holders.Sri Niwas of CSJM University Kanpur was adjudged as the best attacker while Deva Narayan of LPU Punjab was declared as best defender. Govind Yadav was adjudged as best player of the tournament.The concluding function of the championship was attended by the vice-chancellor Prof. Vinay Kumar Pathak, pro vice-chancellor Prof. Sudhir Kumar Awasthi, dean of students welfare Prof. Anshu Yadav, senior ayurveda practitioner Dr. Vandana, Head of the department of physical education Shravan Kumar Yadav, and sports secretary Nimisha Singh Kushwaha, along with other distinguished guests.
