Prayagraj: The under construction Ram Van Gaman corridor developed notable cracks and sinking near Shringverpur in Prayagraj district following seasonal rains, prompting the authorities to take up swift patch-work and repairs.The Ram Van Gaman Path is part of the four-lane corridor being developed to connect Ayodhya and Chitrakoot. The project entails an expenditure of around Rs 4,400 crore having objective to provide improved road connectivity between religious and historical sites such as Ayodhya, Sultanpur, Pratapgarh, Shringverpur Dham, Kaushambi, and Chitrakoot—routes that Lord Ram traversed during his exile.After a video surfaced highlighting cracks being develped on the under-constrution Ram Van Gaman Path near Shringverpur, the authorities of PWD (NH) have intensified exercise to repair the damages.The foundation of ram van gaman path was laid in 2022 and was likely to be completed this year.Ravindra Pal Singh, Executive Engineer, UP PWD Division (NH 1) told TOI that “ The incidents of road subsidence were reported at two locations—spanning 300 meters and 150 meters—within a 14.15 km stretch of the Ram Van Gaman Path, caused by heavy rainfall and soil erosion”. He, however, said “ Repair work is currently underway, and the damaged sections will be restored within two days.”Authorities claimed that a team of engineers, supervisiors and labourers is working to repair the road.
