Gurgaon: More than 200 rooms were sealed across Sushant Lok-1 and South City-1 while several unauthorised structures were demolished on Wednesday.In Sushant Lok-1, authorities took action against six properties in A Block, even as the enforcement drive against illegal construction and commercial use of residential properties entered its second day in the two upscale localities.One of the biggest actions was at 379A, where the dining hall, kitchen, reception, lounge and four rooms in the stilt area were demolished. The first to fourth floors — containing 52 rooms — were sealed.At house 563B, eight rooms, five toilets and a drawing room constructed in the stilt area were demolished.At 569, a basement banquet hall was sealed, while an office and drawing room in the stilt area were demolished.Nine 2-BHK units spread across the first, second and third floors were sealed. Two toilets in the rear setback were also demolished.At 519, despite the property being an approved guesthouse, officials demolished the reception counter, kitchen, dining hall, office and store constructed in the stilt area.Action was also taken against De-Cremica at house 511, where officials alleged that the property had no setback and had been connected to the basement of adjoining plot 529. The basement of plot 529, being used for tile and stone-related work, was sealed. De-Cremica was also completely sealed.At 283A and 282A, which had been clubbed together and were being used as a guesthouse, 36 rooms were sealed.The crackdown also continued in South City-1. At B-2, Eden Treebo Hotel, all 20 rooms in the G+2 building were sealed.At B-79, a PG/guesthouse operation with 32 rooms across the stilt and four floors was sealed, while 39 rooms at B-80 were also sealed.At B-11, a guesthouse with 27 rooms was sealed and an unauthorised office in the stilt area demolished.At B-23, three unauthorised servant rooms, toilets and two leisure rooms with a home theatre were sealed, while an unauthorised guard room was demolished.At B-21, an unauthorised lobby extension was demolished and servant rooms were sealed.District town planner (enforcement) Amit Madholia said the department was taking action against properties found violating sanctioned building plans or being used for purposes other than those permitted.“The survey of licensed colonies is being carried out systematically and action is being taken wherever violations are found. Unauthorised construction, encroachment and commercial use contrary to the approved use will not be allowed and enforcement action will continue against such properties as per rules,” Madholia said.The action is part of the town and country planning department’s ongoing enforcement drive against unauthorised construction and commercial use in licensed colonies.
