Panaji: The district court, on Friday, said that all records of the CCP election, including ballot papers, are preserved for 60 days from the date of the result and, thereafter, for 60 days from the date of an application challenging the result. This is in accordance with the CCP (Election) Rules of 2004.The statement was made after advocate Vishnu Naik, Deodita Pereira, Vaibhav Salgaonkar and Prashila Kunkolikar filed a petition seeking preservation of ballot papers, which may be required as evidence before the court.The court observed that the election results were declared on March 13 and all relevant documents are to be preserved till May 13. The case is adjourned until May 4 for arguments.Naik is asking for quashing the elections on the grounds that secrecy was not maintained during ballot paper voting.
