Kanpur: Special Judge Pocso Act and additional sessions judge, Kanpur Nagar, Raghubar Singh, on Monday dismissed the bail application of Sumit Negi, who has been charged for robbery, intentional insult, criminal intimidation, and extortion. The judge in his order observed that the nature of charges was grave. The complainant submitted the details of five other cases against the accused and a high court order in which the superior court rejected the bail application of co-accused Gajendra Singh Negi. Charges and counter-charges could not be discussed at this juncture, and they would be decided after proper evidence and trial. Therefore,, there were no grounds to grant him bail, hence his bail application was being dismissed. tnn
