Garhwa: A couple was killed on the Garhwa-Ambikapur stretch of NH-343 was killed after their motorcycle was hit by an SUV near Bandu village under Ranka police station limits on Tuesday night. The deceased were identified as Lotan Manjhi, 43, and his wife Anita Devi, 38, both residents of Chutru village under the same police station limits. They were returning home after attending a marriage ceremony. Both died on the spot, the police said.The driver of the SUV left the vehicle and fled the spot. Police seized the vehicle and sent the bodies to Garhwa sadar hospital for post-mortem examination.Ranka police station officer-in-charge Ravi Kumar Keshri said, “Search is on to arrest the SUV’s driver.”
