Vadodara: A couple allegedly died by suicide after consuming poison in Ghata village of Halol taluka in Panchmahal district, police said on Friday. Frequent quarrels between the two are suspected to have led to the incident.According to police, Jayshri Baria (22) started vomiting at her residence on Thursday evening. She was taken to a hospital in Shivrajpur by neighbours and later shifted to Halol as her condition deteriorated. She died during treatment.Preliminary investigation revealed that her husband, Hitesh Baria (32), had also consumed pesticide. He reportedly left the house after ingesting the poison. Villagers began searching for him and found him lying dead on a farm near his residence on Friday night.Postmortem examinations were conducted at the Halol Community Health Centre. Pavagadh police registered an accidental death case and initiated further investigation.Police inspector A B Vora said the couple, who had been married for about a year and had no children, often quarrelled.
