Kanpur: A couple and their 16-month-old son were killed and 10 others were injured in a head-on collision between a DCM truck and an overloaded auto near Jamapur turn on the Etawah-Bareilly Highway in Farrukhabad on Monday afternoon.The deceased were identified as Satendra Kumar (36), his wife Tanu (30), and their 16-month-old child Yuvraj. Police said the impact was severe and the three died on the spot. Of the 10 injured, five were reported to be in a critical condition and rushed to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Lucknow.According to reports, the auto, overloaded with three times its passenger capacity, was traveling from Farrukhabad to Shahjahanpur. Near Samridhi Cold Storage at the Jamapur turn, the driver took a wrong turn and collided violently with an oncoming DCM truck.The accident caused a long traffic jam on the highway. Police used a loader to remove the damaged vehicles and restore normal traffic flow.
