Prayagraj: Senior corporator Meenu Tiwari on Wednesday asserted that city residents are currently facing waterlogging issues due to the ignorance and inexperience of responsible Prayagraj Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials. Despite repeated, strong demands made—ranging from the Corporation’s mini-house to departmental officials—to ensure timely drain cleaning before the monsoon, the PMC authorities remained in a deep slumber and consequently, water is visible everywhere. This time, local corporators were sidelined during the drain-cleaning process and not even consulted, as officials claimed the task would be handled on a zonal basis.Tiwari has urged the state Governor to order a high-level inquiry into the matter, noting that while Rs 15 crore was allocated for drain cleaning, the work remained confined to paperwork.====eom
