Patna: In a joint operation, Patna Police rescued a woman allegedly kidnapped from the Daniyawan police station area and recovered another woman from Bihar during a raid in West Bengal.According to police, the case dates back to April 6, 2025, when a young woman left her home in the Daniyawan area but did not return. After initial searches failed, her family lodged a kidnapping case. Following the FIR, a detailed probe was launched and a special team, led by the station house officer (SHO), was formed on the directions of senior officers.Fatuha-2 sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Sanjeev Kumar said on Saturday that the investigation recently yielded technical evidence tracing the woman to Uttar Dinajpur district of West Bengal. “After obtaining permission for an interstate operation, the team coordinated with Islampur Police and an NGO involved in rescuing trafficked women,” he said.“Acting on inputs, the team raided the Champabagh area under Islampur police station and rescued the kidnapped woman. Another woman from Kuchaikot police station area in Gopalganj district was also found and rescued. Both were brought safely to Patna,” Kumar added.During questioning, the women said they were lured to West Bengal on false promises and kept in exploitative conditions. They alleged they were forced to do household work, including cooking and caring for girls allegedly being pushed into illegal activities.Kumar said the rescued woman has recorded her statement before the court and further investigation is on. No arrests have been made so far as the accused were not present during the raid. He added that efforts are underway to identify and nab all those involved.
