Nagpur: Kotwali police have registered a case against an X user for allegedly spreading false information about the RSS headquarters.According to police, at around 11.30am on July 24, the user posted that “thousands of students surrounded the RSS headquarters in Nagpur”, allegedly portraying the RSS in a poor light.The complainant, an Intelligence Department officer, verified that no such incident had occurred. Police said the post appeared intended to create fear, confusion and tension among the public, with the potential to disturb peace and law and order. The accused has not been arrested.Senior inspector Prashant Jhumde of Kotwali police station said police are writing to senior officers before sending a formal request to X seeking the user’s account details, location data and IP information to identify and trace the person.
