Amritsar: Police deployed heavy reinforcements on Sunday to intercept a Kisan Mazdoor Sangarash Committee (KMSC) march toward the deputy commissioner’s office here.KMSC’s Sarwan Singh Pandher alleged cops had used lathi-charges at Kukrawala and Chogawan to halt the protest, a move he claimed broke with historical precedent. Pandher criticised AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal’s claims regarding flood relief, asserting that Punjab farmers remained uncompensated. The KMSC demands the withdrawal of the India-US interim trade deal, the Electricity (Amendment) Bill 2025, and the Seeds Bill. Additional demands include ₹3.7 crore in compensation for losses at the Khanauri border and relief for recent state floods.
