Lucknow: Gomtinagar police have arrested two men accused of creating a ruckus at a hotel, while allegedly posing as MEA officials. The role of a woman from Turkmenistan is also under the scanner.The arrests were made in connection with a case registered after an incident at a hotel in Vikas Khand-3, Gomtinagar.Police said the investigation led to the seizure of a large number of forged identity cards purportedly issued by the ministry of external affairs, govt of India, along with fake Aadhaar cards and several bank cards.The accused have been identified as Abhinav Singh, 29, son of Pradeep Kumar Singh, a resident of Prateek Lauren, Noida sector 120, with a permanent address in Varanasi, and Shivam Chauhan, 29, son of Narendra Kumar, a resident of Kila Road, Meerut.According to police, both were arrested from house no. 3/214, Vikas Khand-3, on Monday after they were identified during the investigation.The case was initially registered on the complaint of Kumar Sarvottam Pathak, son of Ajay Kumar Pathak, who is associated with the hotel. The complaint alleged that three unidentified persons had entered the hotel, abused the complainant and other staff, threatened them with serious consequences, grabbed the complainant by the neck and interfered with hotel documents.The FIR was registered at Gomtinagar police station under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).The subsequent investigation resulted in the seizure of a substantial quantity of allegedly forged documents and financial instruments from the accused.Police said that on the basis of evidence collected during the investigation, additional sections of the BNS 318(4), 338, 336(3) and 340(2) were added to the case.“Documents are being scrutinised to ascertain the identity of the woman and also about the arrested accused,” said DCP, east zone, Deeksha Sharma.
