NOIDA: Traffic police have issued an advisory and a parking plan for the inauguration of the Noida airport on March 28. Routes have been finalised for delegates visiting from Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Hapur, and Bulandshahr. There will be 15 separate parking lots on the campus for parking vehicles during the programme.Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to arrive for the launch by air. The traffic will move as usual but if traffic pressure increases, diversions will be made, said officers.DCP (traffic) Noida Shailendra Kumar Singh said the movement of goods vehicles on the Noida Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, and around the Jewar airport will be restricted between 7am and 11pm on Saturday. However, emergency vehicles will be allowed to move without any restrictions.The officials have made parking facilities for nearly 14,700 heavy and medium vehicles and 5,000 two-wheelers near the airport. There will be separate parking spaces for VIPs, media and public.The VIPs will enter the airport from the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway link road that connects Yamuna Expressway at the 32 km milestone for parking lots 1, 2 and 3, and shuttles will be provided to the venue. Media personnel’s vehicles will enter through the Kishorpur gate for parking lot number 8. Parking spaces 10 and 15 are reserved for police and administration vehicles.People coming from Meerut and Ghaziabad via Eastern Peripheral Expressway will exit at Sirsa toll plaza and cross Galgotias University and Dayanatpur to reach the airport. Visitors coming from Aligarh and Mathura will exit Jewar toll plaza, then take Sabauta cut.Police said all heavy, medium, and light goods vehicles will be restricted from entering the city and they will be directed to Eastern Peripheral Expressway. GB Nagar MP Mahesh Sharma on Thursday visited Sikkandrabad. He said that the commercial operation of the airport will generate employment opportunities in the region, provide fresh momentum to trade and industry, and significantly enhance regional connectivity.He added that there is excitement among residents over the proposed visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath. Nearly one lakh people will attend the inaugural programme.
