Mangaluru: Unidentified miscreants broke into a KPTCL receiving substation in Brahmavar and made away with valuable copper equipment. Complainant Muralidhar M Shettigar, assistant engineer (V), 220kV Receiving Centre, KPTCL, Heggunnje village, stated that he is currently on duty at the said station within Brahmavar police station limits.According to the complaint, between 1 am and 3.30 am on Wednesday, unknown thieves cut through the wire fencing of the power station and entered the premises. They allegedly stole a total of 12 copper isolators (EARTH GOS) from various bays, including three from 110kV Hiriyadka Bay, two from 110kV Haladi Bay, one from 110kV Kundapur Bay, three from 220kV Karwar 1 Bay and three from 220kV Karwar 2 Bay. The total estimated value of the stolen items is Rs 2.5 lakh. A case has been registered at Brahmavar police station under Section 305 (theft) of the BNS.
