Jhansi: A constable posted in the city Kotwali in Orai was suspended by SP Jalaun Vinay Kumar Singh on Thursday after a video allegedly showing him engaged in inappropriate behaviour with a woman inside the police station’s computer room went viral on social media, triggering widespread criticism.According to reports, the viral video was allegedly captured by a CCTV camera installed inside the Orai Kotwali police station. The footage, which is over two minutes long, purportedly shows a woman, said to be associated with the UP Police, engaging in objectionable and inappropriate conduct with constable Arvind, who is seen seated on a chair.As soon as the video went viral on Thursday and came to the notice of senior police officials, the matter created a stir within the department. Taking swift action, SP Vinay Kumar Singh suspended the constable with immediate effect, while an enquiry has been set up regarding the matter and the role of the woman seen. Circle officer (Orai) Rajesh Verma, who has been handed over the charge of the investigation, said that while Arvind has been placed under suspension, action against the woman will be taken after the inquiry is over.
