Congress must clarify if it supports SIR: BJP

New Delhi: The BJP on Friday targeted Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remarks on the Election Commission and the SIR process. BJP national media co-convener Pradeep Bhandari said the Congress was attempting to create a democratic deficit in the country to mask Rahul Gandhi’s 100 electoral defeats. He also asked the Congress to decide whether it supports or opposes SIR.

“Kerala home minister from Congress has acknowledged that the SIR process helped remove deceased, duplicate and infiltrator voters – exposing Rahul Gandhi’s false propaganda in Delhi. Even leaders within Congress are effectively telling Rahul Gandhi that he is simply not up to the task,” Bhandari told media persons.

Bhandari questioned how the same electoral system could be acceptable in Kerala, Telangana and Karnataka, where Congress forms the government, but suddenly become questionable in states where it loses.

EC Must Clarify, Oppn’s Job is to do politics, says Paswan

LJP (RV) leader Chirag Paswan said, “I believe it is also the responsibility of EC, especially the CEC, to firmly present its side. I don’t care what the opposition says because it is their job to do politics.”

Rashtriya Lok Morcha leader Upendra Kushwaha said, “Opposition language is inappropriate. To dispel confusion, EC must present the correct position.”
