Gorakhpur: Chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday said that the Congress and its INDIA bloc allies are creating chaos, disrupting public life and questioning constitutional institutions to cover up their electoral defeats.“Congress and its allies have lost credibility due to their conduct and are attempting to undermine democratic institutions, including the judiciary, instead of accepting the people’s mandate,” Yogi said.He said the Congress considered electoral victories a result of its own efforts but blamed EVMs and the Election Commission when it lost.He alleged that the party also questioned court verdicts delivered on merit and resorted to threats and abusive language against constitutional institutions.“Creating disorder and putting constitutional institutions in the dock were a part of Congress’s political conduct,” he said.Yogi said the Congress leadership should introspect why voters were repeatedly rejecting it. He pointed out that Congress had been unable to return to power in Uttar Pradesh since 1985, adding that the state’s electorate had rejected it 41 years ago.He said the party also lost its support base in several other states. “Congress party should change its leadership as it has become ineffective and corrupt, and has lost public trust,” Yogi said.He remarked that India’s electorate was politically aware and would not tolerate attempts to create anarchy or undermine democratic institutions.“If the Congress and its allies do not stop their unconstitutional and undemocratic activities, they will lose whatever public support they have,” he warned.Yogi also asked the Congress to stop misleading young people and the public. Instead, the party should participate in a healthy democratic process by debating issues on merit and contributing constructively to public discourse.
