Hyderabad: Congress MPs Gaddam Vamsi Krishna, Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy, Mallu Ravi and Suresh Shetkar on Wednesday met Union railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and discussed railway infrastructure development in Telangana, pending projects and essential facilities for the public.Peddapalli MP Gaddam Vamsi Krishna specifically discussed the progress of the proposed Ramagundam-Manuguru railway line, estimated to cost around ₹4,000 crore. The MP sought details on the current status of the project and said that the railway line is crucial for the industrial, commercial, and transport development of the Ramagundam, Peddapalli, and Mancherial regions.Vaishnaw responded positively and informed that work on the Ramagundam–Manuguru railway line was progressing rapidly, according to Vamsi Krishna. The MP also raised issues regarding already sanctioned ROBs and FOBs in the Peddapalli parliamentary constituency, particularly delays in the release of funds and execution of the projects. He said that despite continuous follow-ups over the past two years, the works remain delayed.He highlighted that waterlogging at construction sites was causing inconvenience and posing risks to the public, and urged immediate action to expedite the pending works. The MP also discussed the upgradation of the Peddapalli, Ramagundam, and Mancherial railway stations with railway officials.Vamsi Krishna said he has been coordinating with the Union ministry of railways to strengthen railway infrastructure in Peddapalli and Mancherial districts, accelerate pending projects and provide better transport facilities for the public. He said he would continue to raise every aspect of the constituency’s development, from the Ramagundam–Manuguru railway line to ROBs, FOBs, and station upgrades with the Centre and strive to ensure swift progress.
