Hyderabad: Telangana state BJP on Wednesday demanded the resignation of chief minister A Revanth Reddy for inept handling of education, municipal and home departments retained under his control.Addressing a news conference at the state party office on Wednesday, chief spokesperson NV Subhash said, “The Congress govt had announced to implement all promises made to public within 100 days after coming to power. But till now, it has not fulfilled a single promise and the waiting period is over”.Subhash accused Revanth Reddy govt of playing with the lives of students and unemployed youth. He criticised that before the elections, Rahul Gandhi was brought to Ashok Nagar to put on a drama in the name of ‘job guarantee’, but after coming to power, the job calendar was completely set aside. “Due to the non-release of ₹14,000 crore fee reimbursement dues, college managements are withholding certificates, causing severe distress to nearly 22 lakh students and their parents. It is extremely unfortunate that the govt, which ought to protect the future of students, described them as “criminal waste,“ Subash said. He stated that it is appalling that the govt remains unmoved despite High Court orders to release fee reimbursement funds.Subhash alleged that CM Revanth Reddy is trying to divert public attention from his failures by raising issues like lowering voting age to 21 from 25 years and the “Future City”.
