Coimbatore: A felicitation programme was organised for a student who cleared the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination after training at a free IAS coaching centre in the city.R. Reshma, 26, of Kuniyamuthur, secured All India Rank 498 in this year’s civil services examination. She secured 205 marks out of 275 in the interview stage. She had studied at a free IAS coaching centre on Nanjappa Road, three years. The centre is run by Dr Kanagaraj, head of the political science department at Government Arts College Coimbatore.Speaking at the event, Reshma advised aspirants to prepare seriously for three to four years, manage their time well, read newspapers daily and analyse previous years’ question papers. She also stressed the importance of proper rest and maintaining hobbies during preparation.Dr Kanagaraj said more students from Tamil Nadu cleared the exam this year, marking a proud moment for the state.
