Coimbatore: The sniffer dog squad of the Coimbatore city police bagged second place in the narcotic and explosive detection dog events at the state police duty meet – 2026.Narcotic detection dog Madhana alongside handler head constable M Ashok Kumar won second place in the narcotics detection category. Similarly, in the explosive detection category, sniffer dog Malar and handler head constable P Senthilkumar secured second place.Inspector general of police (West Zone) and commissioner of police (in-charge), Coimbatore city, R V Ramya Bharathi, appreciated and commended the handlers and their respective police dogs for the achievement.Organised under the guidance of the director general of police/head of police force, Tamil Nadu, the dog events category of the meet was held from September 21 to 25 at the 2nd TSP Regimental Centre (RC) in Chennai.
